7 Fantastic Holiday Date Ideas

This is a fantastic time of year to go on dates. It truly is. The holidays are a lot of fun.

This is the time of year when all of the guesswork is removed from dating. You no longer need to make a reservation for a dull dinner where you sit across from each other and exchange resumes.

I always say that one of the best dates is one where you don’t have to sit there and swap resumes face to face. Who wants to resume swapping on a date?

You can actually get creative with your date ideas during this time of year. Being creative with your date ideas allows both people on a date to be more relaxed, and allows both of you to learn a lot more about each other.

Here are my top seven holiday season dates. They are all entertaining, relaxing, laid-back, and creative. Any of these will make you an instant hit. So, start having fun on your dates tonight with any of the following:

Window Shop: A great date idea is to literally go window shopping. Take a walk around your city or town, or go to the mall, and look at all the wonderful holiday displays. During this time of year, businesses go all out with their decorations. Playing a game is one of my favorite things to do on this date.

Have each of you say what you would choose in each window if you could only have (or if you had to take) one thing displayed there. Have some fun with it. It’s also an excellent way to learn a lot about the other person’s personality.

Ice Skating: Another fun holiday date idea is ice skating. This time of year, almost every town has an ice skating rink. It’s a great way to laugh and have a good time, whether one of you is teaching the other how to skate or you’re both falling from one end of the rink to the other.

Peek Around At A Fair: Another idea for a holiday season date is to visit a Christmas fair. Many towns have Christmas fairs where you can drink hot cider or even have a glass of wine. There is usually a lot to look at and discuss at these events. You could even play the window shopping game I mentioned with the fair’s display tables.

Light It Up: Going to the main part of town for the town’s annual tree lighting is a fun thing to do this time of year and a great holiday date idea. It is an excellent opportunity to watch something beautiful and share your own memories and stories.

Go To The Theater: Attend a holiday play for children in your area. This is a really fun thing to do on a date, whether it’s a community theater or a school production. The holidays are a magical time, and watching children perform is always entertaining.

Make a Wish: Go on a date to a large department store during the holiday season. No, I’m not talking about going shopping. Make it a two-part event. First, go straight to the store’s cooking equipment section, where they will be giving out holiday samples of egg nog and food.

Next, make your way down through the store to Santa. Get in line to see Santa and challenge your date to sit on his lap and make a wish.

Have a Musical Evening: Christmas caroling is another fun holiday date. You can either go watch some caroling or do some yourself. Yes, it may sound silly, but think of it as karaoke in the cold. In any case, you’ll be laughing and having a good time.

Here are seven great holiday date ideas for you to consider. They are all the best things about dates: fun, relaxing, laid back, and creative. So, this holiday season, give one or more of these a try!
