Is Alcohol the True Cause of Your Inability to Find Love?

Let’s talk about addictions right now. Let’s talk about requirements.

Let’s talk about not being in touch with your true self.

How many of you say to yourself at the end of the day.

“I’m thirsty.”

Let’s be honest here. I’m not criticizing you, but the purpose of this post is to encourage you to consider a different perspective on how things can be in life.

I don’t date alcoholics.

It’s not my way of life. I don’t need to drink at the end of the day to unwind.

At the end of the day, I need a heartfelt, soul-to-soul connection. Whether by myself or with my partner.

When I’m not in a relationship, I rely on my friends. Every day, my friends and I have heart-to-heart conversations.

In fact, the vast majority of my friends do not drink at all.

Human interaction, a heart-to-heart soul connection.

You are not fully present when you drink. When you’re stoned, you wander around aimlessly. I refer to it as wandering mind. So I understand how you feel.

And I’ve consumed a lot of alcohol in my life. I’m prone to losing track because who’s counting?

I need to be raw, open, vulnerable, and download everything in order to experience the human high that only two people can experience.

The greatest high in the world is the one you can have between two people.

Love is the most powerful drug in the world.

Whether it’s friendship, love, or…

Love between a daughter and her mother…

Love between a father and a daughter…

Husband and wife adore…

Love between a boyfriend and a girlfriend…

It’s the most potent drug because men and women were created to connect on a spiritual, soulful level.

Your body literally releases chemicals in your brain when you connect soul to soul, heart to heart. Dopamine, oxytocin, and everything else. Some emotions will literally get you high.

Have you ever kissed someone for the first time when you were literally punch drunk? You literally have no idea where you’re walking, you literally will drive home and not realize you’re home because you’re still spinning from the incredible connection and kiss as you literally explore each other physically for the very, very first time?

That is a soul-to-soul communication.

And there’s another high when you connect with their body, when their body, mind, and spirit connect with yours, and you both become one.

Do you still want that drink?

Do you still require a beverage?

Do you still need to numb your emotions?

Do you need to dull your senses a little?

Not confronting what you truly desire.

Personally, I can’t stand being around people who drink. I tried it, but it didn’t work for me.

It’s extremely difficult. You know, drinkers always tell me they’re the same person whether they’re drunk or sober, which is completely false because, with the exception of my amazing friend Brian Floyd, I’ve never met a drinker who was the exact same person. I’m not sure how he did it after 10 scotches, but he always did. He was a one-of-a-kind bird.

So here’s a quick question I’d like to pose to everyone today:

Why do you keep numbing your life, and what are you running from?

What are you so afraid of that you have to feel day in and day out instead of just numbing yourself at night?

Today, I’d like you to be raw and honest with yourself about why you need a drink, or whatever other addictions, vices, or habits you may have.

Why do you require it? What are you fleeing?

Why are you so afraid of seeing and exploring the true vulnerability that life entails?
